The Baltimore and Philadelphia Steamboat Company or Ericsson Line, was incorporated in Maryland on February 23, 1844. Known as the Ericsson Line, the company operated special narrow propeller ships between Baltimore and Philadelphia through the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal.
