Arcturus Radio Tube Company
This company was originally known as the Arcturus Radio Company, and had operations in Newark. One of the companies primary manufacturing plants was located on Frelinghuysen Avenue. The company manufactured vacuum tubes, many of which were made with a distinctive blue glass known simply as “Arcturus blue.” The name was changed to the Arcturus Radio Tube Company in 1926. The company went out of business as transistors came to replace the antiquated vacuum tube technology.
