The Butte Copper Consolidated Mines was incorporated in South Dakota and had operations in the Elk Park Mining District of Montana. The Elk Park district was in the vicinity of the Elk Park station on the branch line of the Great Northern Railroad about 18 miles northeast of Butte.

Although numerous prospects scattered through the district, concentrating on vein mineralization, there was very little development and production.
