The Richmond Mining Company of Nevada was incorporated in February 1873, and had properties in the Eureka District in Lander County. The company’s owned the Arctic and Ruby claims, located on Ruby Hill.

The Richmond Mining Company and the Eureka Mining Company were two of the largest concerns in Eureka. These two companies often collided, and in one instance, their litigation reached the U.S Supreme Court.
