Fuel Oil Motors Corporation

Fuel Oil Motors Corporation
Item# 4691

The Fuel Oil Motors Corporation was incorporated in 1921 in New York. In 1932, the company acquired 100% of the Schwarz Cycle Engine Company (the company had previously owned 39% of Schwarz). The engine produced by the Fuel Oil Motors/Schwarz union was said to be revoultionary - operating only on fuel oil. The engine was tested on taxi cabs in a number of cities (including Newark, NJ) and was said to offer significantly more mileage and power as compared to the traditional engines at the time. Unfortunately, the crash of 1929 would eventually put the company out of business.

This certificate was issued approximately 3 months prior to the crash.
